PSG has now won the prestigious trophy on fourteen separate occasions.
The Parisian giants required a dramatic leveler followed by a successful spot-kick decider to get past Marseille in Kuwait and secure a fourth straight Trophee des Champions victory.
The European champions seemed to be coasting towards a comfortable triumph in the showdown featuring the French league champions and the Coupe de France holders after Ousmane Dembele opened the net in the opening stages.
However, the southern French side fired two times late to seize a shock advantage. Initially, Mason Greenwood converted from the penalty spot, before the defender inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.
In a breathtaking turn of events, the Portuguese striker grabbed a vital leveler in the final seconds to send the contest into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, saving crucial kicks from Matt O'Riley and Hamed Traore.
From the spot, Ramos, the midfielder, Nuno Mendes, and Desire Doue all converted with composure for PSG to complete a convincing penalty win.
Now 14-time champions PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now won this trophy for the 12th time in the last 13 seasons.
