19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev won his initial trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging year, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with former coach Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first championship since the Rome competition and initial on a hard court since spring of 2023.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has won 21 victories at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had prompted observers to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the final five points to go ahead.

Both players exchanged break points in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to force a third set.

He saved four early chances in a close final set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he earned the title with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
